Don’t look now, but the Tigers are on a solid winning streak. After winning three-straight games before a couple of weather-induced postponements, Detroit took down the Guardians twice on Tuesday, thanks to their third-straight walk-off win in game one, before Eduardo Rodriguez pitched an excellent game in the second. The doubleheader sweep extended the Bengals’ run to five-straight wins, as they are now in sole possession of third place in the American League Central.
Despite dropping the two games to open these, the Guardians remain in second place in the division just one game ahead of the Tigers, but two back of the first-place Minnesota Twins. Cleveland is now on a three-game losing skid, having lost six of their last 10.
The Tigers have a chance to earn a full series sweep for the first time this season on Wednesday.
PROBABLE STARTERS
- DET: Spencer Turnbull (1-2, 9.00 ERA)
- CLE: Cal Quantrill (0-1, 5.74 ERA)
