TUNKHANNOCK, PA (April 18, 2023) — The University of Scranton men’s golf team shot a 304 to take down Marywood (319) and Clarks Summit (388) in a local tri-match hosted at Stone Hedge Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Danny Harding (Vestal, N.Y. / Vestal) led the way for the Royals and picked up medalist honors with a one-over round of 72. Senior Ethan Zawatski (Dallas, Pa. / Dallas) fired off a five-over round of 76 while fellow senior Matthew Fleming (Richboro, Pa. / Council Rock South) finished one stroke behind at 77 (+6).
Sophomore Liam Burtis (Binghamton, N.Y. / Seton Catholic Central) carded a 79 (+8) while freshmen Jack Novis (Lancaster, Pa. / Lancaster Catholic) and Gehrig Shannon (Bernardsville, N.J. / Saint Peter’s Prep) rounded out the lineup for Scranton with rounds of 81 (+10) and 83 (+12) respectively.
The men’s golf team returns to action on Thursday for a match against Clarks Summit at Glemaura National Golf Club at 1:00 PM.
