KINGSTON, N.Y. — Alexandra Young fired a 7-over-par 41 Tuesday at Wiltwyck Golf Club as Rondout Valley High’s girls golf team defeated Onteora in Mid-Hudson Athletic League action to remain undefeated on the season.
The Ganders improved to 3-0 with a 144-151 victory over the Eagles.
Madison Paddock (51) and Grace Coonrad (52) had contributing scores for Rondout.
The visiting Eagles were led by Rachel Williams and Luci Leonard, who both shot 47s. Chloe Maloney and Lily Anna posted 57s for the visitors.
Marlboro 171, New Paltz 197
At Apple Greens Golf Course, Alexa Trapani led the way for the visiting Dukes girls golf team with a 10-over 45 on the back nine.
Gwen Benninger (57) and Ashay Guzman (69) had other contributing scores for Marlboro (1-0 MHAL).
New Paltz (0-2) was led by Mina Pine (63). Other Huguenots’ contributing scores were posted by Maddie Tiano (65) and Giuliana DiBenedeto (69).
Highland 164, Ellenville 189
At Apple Greens, Kylie VanZandt’s 47 led the way for Highland in an MHAL division match.
Sierra Wiser (58) and Grace Koehler (59) rounded out the top three for the victors.
McKenzie Stephens (60), Eva Orfanos (64) and Megan Wright (65) carded scores for the visiting Blue Devils.
“It was a miserable day for golf,” Ellenville coach Maxwell Mead said of the windy and cold playing conditions. “The girls battled all day, which was nice to see. And they also learned a lesson about being prepared for the weather.”
